**Job Summary and Responsibilities**
The Senior Pathology Assistant provides support for the Anatomic Pathology and Cytology sections of the Laboratory.
Duties include:
+ Pathologists in the collection of specimens in Bone Marrow exams and autopsies.
+ Provide clerical functions and technical functions under the supervision of the Pathologists.
+ Provide assistance for related tasks including stocking of supplies, cleaning equipment, record handling and storage, specimen handling, storage and disposal, and other duties as assigned.
**Job Requirements**
+ At least 2 years experience in a laboratory environment as either a Pathology Assistant or Laboratory Assistant familiar with handling biological material.
+ Previous experience in an acute care hospital is preferred.
+ Training is provided by the department specific to the work tasks needing to be done.
+ Must have good oral communication skills and be able to interact with Pathologist, physicians, nursing personnel and the public as required.
+ Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
+ Must have a working knowledge of laboratory operations and familiarity with specimen handling processes, previous pathology experience is preferred.
+ Must be computer literate.

**Pay Range**
$29.40 - $36.81 /hour
