**HR Database Programmer / Support Specialist (Part-Time)**
**Scope:** We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Database Programmer & Support Specialist to maintain, enhance, and support our existing Human Resources (HR) database systems. This role is responsible for improving system functionality while also serving as the first level of support for HR staff. The ideal candidate will combine technical programming skills with strong communication and problem-solving abilities to ensure smooth and efficient HR operations.
**Primary duties will include but not be limited to:**
**Database Development & Enhancement**
+ Maintain, update, and enhance existing HR databases and related tools.
+ Develop new features, modules, and automation solutions to support HR processes (recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, etc.).
+ Optimize database structures, queries, and system performance.
+ Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational standards and regulations.
+ Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, including data dictionaries, workflows, and system updates.
+ Assist with system integrations, API connections, and data migration tasks.
**First-Level Support**
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for HR system issues, questions, and troubleshooting requests.
+ Diagnose and resolve routine database and application issues; escalate complex issues when necessary.
+ Provide user support and training to HR staff on system functionality, new features, and best practices.
+ Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues before they impact users.
+ Respond to service requests in a timely, professional manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future
+ Must be able to successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment contingencies
**Required**
+ Experience in programming, database development, or related technical support roles.
+ Proficiency with databases: SQL, DB2, MS SQL, Oracle, Postgress, MSAcess, SQL'[[[[[[, tsql and MySQL).
+ Knowledge of programming languages: Python, C#, Java, Java Script, ASP, Power script, Pascal, Fortran, ADA and JSP.
+ Strong understanding of database structures, queries, stored procedures, and data models.
+ Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
+ Ability to multitask and prioritize support requests effectively.
**Preferred**
+ Experience working with HRIS or HR-related systems.
+ Familiarity with reporting/analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
+ Experience with system integrations and APIs.
+ Understanding of data security and compliance requirements.
+ Prior experience in a support or helpdesk role.
