Referrals Specialist - Bilingual Skills Preferred (Spanish)

**Job Description:**

The Referral Specialist is responsible to execute patient referrals as indicated by physicians, seek authorization as required by individual insurances and notify patients.

The Referral Specialist is responsible for the processing of patient referrals as ordered by physicians, obtain authorization as required by individual insurances, and notify patients. Assisting patients with referral status, referral concerns, and scheduling appointments via telephone is also apart of the daily responsibilities of this role.

**Minimum Qualifications**

**Knowledge and understanding of insurance** **programs.**

**Two years minimum experience with** **computers.**

**Computer** **skills** **(Windows,** **Word,** **Excel** **spreadsheets,** **use** **of** **a** **mouse** **for** **a** **computer,** **etc.)** **with** **proven** **ability to type 50** **wpm.**

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred

+ 1+ years of referral or prior authorization experience

+ Knowledge and understanding of health insurance requirements and programs

+ Knowledge of medical terminology

+ Experience in working with insurance portals

**Physical Requirements:**

+ Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.

+ Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.

+ Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.

+ Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$17.00 - $22.10
