Busperson - Rivea - Mandalay Bay

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Interacts with restaurant guests, fellow staff members, and supervisors in a polite, courteous and hospitable manner to ensure all guests have an exemplary dining experience. Delivers bread, serves water, replenishes supplies and assists in maintaining the cleanliness of all areas of the restaurant.

Confirms all the tables are positioned properly: linen, silverware, china, glassware, condiments and flower, etc. Assists in the set-up, breakdown and maintains all of dining areas. Ensures that dining room is supplied with appropriate and clean utensils, china, glassware, water, condiments, and ice.

Anticipates guest needs, when possible, and provides extra items, drinks, and condiments to the table. Assists Food Servers with carrying food trays and serving guests when necessary. Serves water and non-alcoholic beverages to guests, removes dirty dishes and debris from tables, and resets tables with clean linens after guests depart. Brings high chairs and booster seats to tables upon guest’s request.

Cleans and organizes side stations. Maintains cleanliness of all work area. Transports dishes to kitchen for washing and disposes of trash in designated receptacles.

Communicates with servers and managers regarding guest’s requests.

Works in a team with other bus persons.

Performs other job related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

At least 1 year previous experience in related position in a high volume environment.

Excellent customer service skills.

Must have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.

Professional appearance and demeanor.

Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Must be able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.

Preferred:

Must have a good working knowledge of all restaurant functions.

Must have previous experience in large and heavy tray handling.

Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.

**THE JOB:**

As a Bus Person, you will be responsible for setting the stage for an excellent guest experience by clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables to ensure smooth service. By understanding the guests’ unique stories and needs, you will own their experience to create WOW memories they will carry with them far and beyond their stay with us.

**THE DAY-TO-DAY:**

+ Consistently provide a positive guest experience by bussing and setting up tables, cleaning, sanitizing, and polishing dishware while maintaining the appearance of the front and back-of-house areas to company standards.

+ Ensure guest safety by following proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
