This position will lead and manage Cyber Security projects and the Human Capital Replacement System in the PMO. This ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience leading project teams of 5 personnel or more and complex projects in excess of $75M.

Position Purpose

Leads the efforts to ensure that appropriate project management practices, procedures, and programs are established and implemented to successfully control project scope and to imitate and complete projects within budget, on schedule, and meeting business requirements in your assigned Strategic Business Unit. Provides oversight and direction to project management teams to ensure proper direction of multifunctional/cross-disciplinary teams of TVA employees and staff augmentation contractors and outside contractors. Responsibility includes project assurance through oversight to ensure that early warning signs of issues on projects are recognized and corrective actions are properly identified and taken.

Supervisory Responsibility

Supervises a team of project managers and other personnel including TVA employees and staff augmentation contractors.

Budget Responsibility

Responsible for an organizational budget of approximately $1M, and oversight of a portion of the project portfolio representing over $75M of investment each fiscal year.

Principal Accountabilities

+ Manage the work of a mutli-discipline group which establishes the standards for planning, estimating, scheduling, forecasting, cost control, and change management for Capital and O&M projects in the assigned Business Unit.

+ Keep business unit leadership informed of major project status and provide timely alerts of significant deviations from expected schedules and budgets.

+ Develop and ensure adherence with policies and work practices that provide direction for the implementation and management of Capital and O&M projects.

+ Ensure projects are consistently delivered on time, on budget, with the expected functionality.

+ Identify significant problems or adverse trends, implementing corrective action plans, and advising leadership regarding appropriate corrective actions.

+ Perform oversight on projects within the organization’s project portfolio to ensure they are adhering to applicable procedures, regulations, and contractual obligations.

+ Facilitate the training of professionals on project management methods and tools.

+ Ensure Business Unit. project management standards, TVA project management standards and policies, and organizational strategies and policies are consistently and appropriately utilized on all projects.

+ Provide ongoing facilitation, coaching, and mentoring to project managers.

+ Provide input into strategy formulation and communications for the organization.

+ Maintain cognizance of various industry/regulatory issues such as NERC, CIP, etc. and represent organizational project management on various agency level committees.

+ Supervise subordinates to accomplish the aforementioned accountabilities.

Minimum Requirements:

Education— Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or related field. MBA preferred.

Experience— Ten or more years of business related business work experience with at least five years of experience in a leadership role. Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools.

Certification/License, etc— Project management certification preferred or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities— Strong interpersonal skills; effective written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated planning and organizational skills; and experience with team-building and employee skill development. Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions.
