Patient Account Rep II.

Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period.

Responsible for translations of billing system, excel reporting must be proficient in Microsoft. Hospital UB or 1500 billing experience.

Position Summary: This position has the responsibility of working patient accounts as defined by the department established policies and procedures under the Manager and Supervisor within the department. Specifics and volume of work is defined by the functional area within the Business Office that the employee is assigned. All work shall be completed in a timely and accurate manner. The Patient Account Representative (PAR) Level II position serves as a resource to PAR Level I staff by providing training and assitance in solving complex issues. A Level II has the ability to handle and resolve complex issues with little or no supervision resulting in the correct outcome. Hospital payment and adjustment posting experience preferred with medical insurance carrier and patient payments. Proficiant with all standard office/computer equipment preferred.

Minimum Education: None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficent to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill, and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a HS diploma or GED.

Minimum Experience: Two to three years (2-3) experience in health care is required. Computer experience is required. Knowledge of medical termminology, claims submission, customer service is preferred. Expected to perform adequately within the position after working at least three to sixc (3-6) months on the job. Must be familiar with insurance plans and requirements ad collection practices e.g. Fair Debit Credit and Collection Act.
