Administrative Assistant, Administration Department
Full-time, 80 hours per pay period, Shift: Days
Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Peninsula Hospital Administrator, the Administrative Asst will carry out assigned responsibilities as delegated by the Administrator. These responsibilities presume the individual occupying this position is capable of independent judgment and works with minimal supervision and direction . The administrative assistant serves as the primary assistant to the Administrator and is responsible for the overall clerical and administrative system of the office. Performs administrative duties for a VP level executive. Does work of a confidential nature and relieves executive of designated administrative details. Prepares correspondence, memoranda, reports, etc., utilizing advanced PC software skills. Schedules and maintains calendar of appointments, meetings, and travel itineraries, and coordinates related arrangements. Must exercise initiative, judgment and knowledge of company practices, policies and organization.
Minimum Education: None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a HS diploma or GED.
Minimum Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years clerical/administrative experience. Experience using word processing (MS Word), presentation (PowerPoint) and spreadsheet (Excel) software.
