**Job Description**
BAE Systems, Inc. is recruiting for a Transporter Technician to join our Electrical & Instrument Services team at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Kingsport, TN. The successful candidate will possess considerable depth of experience and proven abilities in the arena of troubleshooting and repairing industrial transportation equipment, ancillary charging equipment, and maintenance of electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic control systems. Primary responsibilities include: Preventive and/or corrective electrical / mechanical maintenance for electric transporters, forklifts, and material lifts; Supporting E&I Services with motor replacement needs; Maintaining critical spare motor stock; Assisting electricians with electrical maintenance requests.
Typical duties include the following:
Testing, troubleshooting, & repair of electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic controls on production transporter equipment.
Completion of preventative / corrective maintenance on transporters, fork lifts, and scissor lifts to sustain mechanical & safe operating integrity.
Assist with completion of preventative / corrective maintenance on material lifts to sustain mechanical & safe operating integrity.
Document all corrective/preventive maintenance activities for CMMS program.
Accurately record/report job time for KRONOS system.
Transport transporter, fork lift, and scissor lift equipment from production environment to shop for maintenance and repairs.
Support daily production operations by responding / addressing breakdown issues of transporter and fork lift equipment.
Maintain spare parts inventory for transporter and fork lift equipment.
Operate fork lift, hand tools, hydraulic tools, and industrial shop equipment.
Maintain critical spare motor inventory.
Assist electricians with electrical maintenance requests.
Transport industrial lift equipment as needed to / from job sites for Facilities Maintenance.
Assist other E&I department crafts Electricians, Control System Technicians, Line Crew, or Non-Destructive Testing, during heavy shutdown/workload periods.
Ability to utilize electrical schematics, single lines, P&ID s, shop mathematics, handbook formulas, precision measuring instruments, and industrial shop equipment.
Maintain a working knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC), NFPA, and OSHA Safety Procedures.
Communicate frequently and effectively with other E&I team members and functional departments.
Lock-out/tag-out and disable all energy sources for safe work on equipment.
Willing to support plant operations in afterhours emergency situations.
Adherence to all Plant Protection Standards, PPE requirements, Company Policies, & Guidelines.
Other duties as determined by department management.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
Experience in electrical / mechanical troubleshooting and repairing of industrial transportation / material handling equipment.
Associates degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Technology and/or certified Journeyman Electrician or similar DOL apprenticeship.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
Background in electrical or electro-mechanical maintenance.
Experience maintaining battery powered equipment, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Prior work experience in a hazardous manufacturing environment.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $20800 - $416000
