Manager, Technical Diagnostic Imaging (FT) 8a-5p Kingsport, TN

SCOPE OF POSITION
​The Manager, Technical Diagnostic Imaging develops long-term and short-term goals and objectives; facilities development, equipment evaluation and selection, and customer relations. The Technical Manager is responsible for ensuring that policies are consistently developed, observed, and implemented for each modality. The Technical Manager is accountable for compliance with all pertinent JCAHO and/or AOA Standards, ACR, and local, state and federal regulations. As an integral part of the Diagnostic Imaging Management Team, team building, mentoring, and committee participation are required.  

The Technical Manager evaluates monthly variance reports for efficient, economic, and quality performance of the above modalities. The Technical Manager is accountable for practicing fiscal responsibility by developing realistic annual operating and capital budgets, conserving resources, and monitoring expenditures to ensure that each modality remains within budgeted parameters. This position is responsible for flexing and cross-training staff to comply with established productivity standards. The Technical Manager will ensure that departmental facilities and equipment are regularly inspected and maintained in optimum operating condition. The Technical Manager is accountable for maintaining harmonious interactions between subordinate supervisors and their employees and the public. The incumbent is expected to lend technical assistance for the Diagnostic Imaging equipment and act in a consultant role to service providers.  

This Technical Manager recruits, interviews, negotiates, hires, monitors training, evaluates, promotes, transfers, disciplines, and dismisses employees if necessary. The Technical Manager ensures that all personnel are qualified and maintain active licensure. This individual trains, educates, mentors, coaches, encourages, and disciplines Diagnostic Imaging’s staff. 

Information compiled in this Technical Manager's area of responsibility impacts strategic planning decisions and is used to aid physicians in research activities and contributes to the fiscal viability of the hospital. This person will serve as a resource person to assist physicians and hospital departments in preparation of utilization services and referral patterns to be used in development of business and strategic plans. The Technical Manager must demonstrate ability to interact with physicians and other professionals as well as the public in highly diversified and complex situations. This individual must be able to make sound decisions objectively and to follow through with them.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
​Bachelor's degree in a healthcare field required, Master's degree preferred. An Associate degree with 5 years of Imaging supervisory experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. The incumbent must be registered in a radiology field (Radiology, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, etc). A strong technical background is highly preferred. Minimum three years progressively responsible experience, including one year in a supervisory role, preferably at the manager level. 

Valid and active Radiology Specialty licensure (Radiology, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, etc)
