Responsible for assisting in all aspects of the Emergency Management Program for Kettering Health. The Emergency Management Specialist is responsible for coordinating and integrating all activities to mitigate, prepare, respond, and recover from any hazard or disaster. The Emergency Management Specialist is responsible for collaborating with Kettering Health leaders through the Emergency Operations Planning Committee, to continuously evaluate a system-wide risk assessment and concurrently develop, review, and implement response strategies to align with ACHC, OSHA, ODH, FEMA, CMS, and other regulatory agency standards. Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Coordinating emergency management program in accordance with standards set forth by ACHC, CMS, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
+ Coordinates disaster exercises and drills as required by ACHC, CMS, FEMA, and OSHA.
+ Develop, coordinate, and implement daily operational initiatives to allocate resources for disaster response objectives and operational safety. Anticipates system needs for implementation of the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS).
+ Support the Kettering Health Emergency Operations Center when activated to perform duties as assigned during emergencies and planned events.
+ Assists in the development, implementation, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of emergency preparedness trainings for employees, contractors, and physicians.
• Represent Kettering Health in local, regional, state, federal meetings and exercises relating to emergency management.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited University Preferred
Master’s degree in related field
Minimum Work Experience
3 years minimum experience in emergency or disaster-related field.
1 year of training and experience in emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. 1 year of experience in hospital emergency management and/or public safety.

NIMS – ICS 300 and 400 required within one year of hire.
