In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. This state-of-the-art engineering, manufacturing and sourcing facility produces a wide array of intricate components to deliver trusted national security products and government services primarily for the NNSA. ***This position will be in Kansas City, MO***

Summary of Duties:

+ This position is responsible for a variety of professional software level engineering responsibilities

+ Uses advanced knowledge of software engineering discipline, processes, and tools in order to complete and ensure compliance of various project subtasks

+ May interact with external customers to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications

+ May help to develop and define engineering processes in the COE

+ Acts as a mentor to lower-level Engineers

+ Performs software design, coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process

+ Generally, works both independently and collaboratively, on moderately complex aspects of a project with little supervision

+ Uses advanced knowledge of software engineering discipline, processes, and tools in order to complete and ensure compliance of various project subtasks

+ May act as a mentor to junior level software engineers

+ May interact with external customers to facilitate the completion of project to customer specifications

+ Knowledge of moderately complex software engineering design, coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting techniques, across all phases of an application development lifecycle

+ Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project, under minimal supervision, with some latitude for independent action and decision making

+ Some positions within this classification may require unique engineering expertise related to a particular discipline

+ Interacts with design agencies, suppliers and internal organizations to assist in resolving design, development, production and acceptance issues

+ Identifies and executes continuous improvement opportunities and defect preventions throughout the life cycle of the product

+ Uses business knowledge to evaluate and prioritize business opportunities based on economic and technical factors

+ Willingness to travel up to 25%

You Must Have:

+ U.S citizenship required to obtain and maintain U.S. Department of Energy ""Q"" level security clearance

+ Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other equivalent ABET accredited Engineering program and 4 years of experience

+ Four (4) or more years of experience in engineering development and/or manufacturing, including readiness of new designs

We Value:

+ Currently active Q or Top-Secret security clearance highly desired

+ Advanced degree in engineering or engineering management

+ Seven (7) or more years of experience preferred

+ Experience interacting with and presenting to multiple levels of technical stakeholders, customers, vendors, and suppliers

+ Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills

+ Knowledge and results of continuous improvement methodologies including Six Sigma

+ Proven ability in decision making and organization, planning and problem-solving skills

+ Ability to work under minimal supervision, with latitude for independent action and decision making

+ Good people skills: ability to work in and motivate teams to produce on-target and timely results

+ Ability to plan and organize, demonstrate excellent time management, and support several projects at once

+ Python is a plus
