The Senior Automation Engineer will install, test, maintain, and replace automation systems throughout the production process, buildings and utilities. He will also troubleshoot on complex equipment/machines more specific on electrical component parts, motion sensors, control components, photosensors, and other vital technology. In addition to maintaining smooth operation, will operate as a subject matter expert (SME) for leadership and key decision-makers, delivering reports on current automation capabilities and future opportunities. He should be able to run reports from Historian (OSIPI) for trending and support of operational decisions. Will report functionally also to the global automation lead to make sure that standardization on every level (hardware, software, principles, reporting, etc.) is followed throughout the whole business worldwide. Overall: • Support internal and external audits • Implement technical standards • Implement AAA and/or relevant Novartis GOPs and, if needed, create regional / site SOPs & templates • Lead or contribute to equipment, utility, facility improvement projects (e.g. energy efficiency, productivity, environmental compliance, maintenance) • Assist in the maintenance of equipment so as to ensure that equipment and processes run smoothly • Provide technical assistance and support regarding all projects, installations, and repairs • Maintain smooth communication with different levels of departments and peers • Work smoothly with team members and site customers • Conduct investigations • Recommend changes and upgrades to equipment • Prepare periodic reports on the progress made concerning faulty machines, errors, and processes • Ensure the calibration of all machines and maintenance after calibration • Provide regular system operation training on automated systems • Take care of installation, maintenance, and inspection of control systems and workstation installations at the facility • Coordinate others work in order to achieve departmental goals • Provide technical monitoring for automation technicians and engineers both on-site and off-site • Assist in the specification, installation, and modifications of the systems • Adhere to safety standards at all times Automation: • Develop & design Process Control Systems • Develop & implement configuration / Recipes (Scada / PLC's / Control Networks) • Implement Software Change Controls associated with automation / system changes • Establish & maintain Computer Systems Life Cycle Management on automation systems • Develop & deliver OT activities (e.g. Backup & Recovery / Patch Management / Remote Access / User Access) • Establish & maintain new / modified end-to-end OT services / processes / procedures for Automation / Manufacturing / QC equipment • Align automation procedures • Standardize Hardware (PLC, I/O cards, systems) • Share common software solutions & knowledge • Organize trainings and onboarding new Automation Engineers and technicians. • Upgrade hardware and software for improved process control CSV: • Provide support, including testing & documentation during CSV exercises (FAT,SAT and qualification) The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $130,400 and $195,600 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors. \n\n\n\n **Position Title:** Senior Automation Engineer **Role Requirements:** • Bachelor's Degree is required • 5 years of engineering experience in Automation in Chemical or Pharmaceutical industry • Familiarity with the Novartis or similar architecture and Siemens systems is preferred • Possess multiple skills in the areas of fluid power, manufacturing processes, electricity, electronics, and mechanical systems • Possess a deep understanding of Ethernet communication, Control Logic and Programmable Logic Control (PLC), SCADA systems • Demonstrate knowledge concerning general safety protocol and procedures regarding field operations • Possess broad-based knowledge in order to successfully troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve problems that relate to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic of all building control / automation and related systems • Communications skills with the ability to present ideas & solutions • Skills in CSV within automation • Extended knowledge of GxP/HSE & Quality systems Why Advanced Accelerator Applications?
