The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleAs a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

+ Working with product development, manufacturing, and quality teams to validate product performance after changes in formulation, process, or raw materials

+ Connecting product development, manufacturing, and quality teams to drive scale-up of new products and address issues with current products

+ Driving process understanding (PPU) efforts and product change processes to support business portfolio needs

+ Developing and implementing product control plans

+ Collaborating with global laboratories and manufacturing sites

+ Utilizing strong communication skills to inspire, influence, motivate and teach other team members

Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

+ Five (5) years manufacturing engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment

+ Two (2) combined years experience gathering product information, material property data collection, setting specifications, developing test methods and/or translating to product requirements within a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

+ Two (2) years experience in process engineering, equipment engineering, or a manufacturing technology function

+ Experience with product and technology development, product engineering, and global experience

+ Strong written and oral communication skills

+ Demonstrated planning and execution skills

+ Knowledge or experience in web handling, drying, chemical processing

+ Advanced degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or related discipline from an accredited university

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: Is authorized within country, per 3M relocation policy

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
