Unpaid Internship

UNPAID INTERNSHIP: The Cool Kids Clubhouse, located in Huntersville, NC, has several openings for unpaid internships in the coming semester. Joining the Cool Kids team is not just filing papers – we require team players who are ready for a challenge.

Our mission is devoted to improving the quality of life for pediatric oncology patients by providing free academic, social, and emotional programs to the child with cancer, their siblings, and parents. Our Clubhouse programs include Movie Nights and Smile Celebrations (birthday parties and end-of-treatment celebrations) as well as drop off days and support groups.

Throughout the year we host a variety of fundraisers and community outreach events including our Annual Dan Jansen Celebrity Golf Classic, silent auctions, Dine-Out Nights, Give Back Days, Sip and Shop, corporate and faith-based collaborations and many other events. Cool Kids interns play a big role in spreading awareness, securing and hosting fundraisers and events across the Charlotte and Lake Norman region.

Interns will be exposed to a high-volume daily task list, the organization and execution of events, seeing how programs are run, and much more. Though it is not required, we do seek interns with design experience. There is also a good deal of physical work required as we do count on our interns to help us set up and break down from programs and events. The number of hours a week can be discussed, but to be considered an intern we are looking for consistency - somebody to come in at least 2 days per week for a minimum of 3 hours per day. We also have opportunities available on the weekends to help with community events, movie nights and children's birthday parties.
