Lead revenue generation through volunteer leadership and engagement, corporate sponsorship and individual giving for our lifesaving mission!

As an integral member of our collaborative **Hawaii** team, the **Business Development Director** will drive fundraising and volunteer engagement for the overall division and will be directly responsible for fundraising campaigns.

**Responsibilities**

**Essential Job Duties** :

+ Build and manage a portfolio of corporate accounts and individual donors to achieve the fullest potential in volunteer leadership engagement and revenue generation.

+ Identify, recruit and engage executive volunteer leadership including implementing a year-round cultivation plan.

+ Inspire and steward volunteer leadership team through their personal and corporate giving and influencing involvement and giving of others.

+ Develop a year-round pipeline and cultivation plan for corporate accounts and donors with an approach that matches donor interests with the AHA mission.

+ Drive new business development through sponsorship and corporate fundraising.

+ Plan and execute events (digital experiences and in-person events) and strategically evaluate campaign growth opportunities.

+ Actively network and outreach through 10+ meetings on weekly basis with donors, volunteers and sponsor prospects.

+ Communicate proactively with Senior Business Development Director, Executive Director and internal and external customers.

**Qualifications**

+ 2+ years’ experience in fundraising or outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity.

+ Proven verbal and written communication skills, including large and small group presentations, group facilitation, and training.

+ Ability to prepare clear and concise narrative reports, evaluations and similar narrative pieces.

+ Ability to read, interpret and analyze financial goals and fundraising reports.

+ Due to the current pandemic, American Heart Association offices are closed and daily travel is minimal and voluntary to ensure the health and safety of staff; all staff are currently working from home. In the future, this position will resume to being based in the Honolulu office and having up to 75% daily travel and minimal overnight travel.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and customer relationship management database systems.
