Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, mission-oriented **Scrum Master** , in the **Herndon, VA** area. At ManTech, you will help protect our national security while working on innovative projects that offer opportunities for advancement. A qualified Scrum Master will make sure that team members are well trained and understand Agile processes, ensuring team members know their respective roles and have a sense of project ownership. That processes are followed and teams are self-managed.

Ideal candidates possess soft skills such as effective communication, problem-solving, coaching and teamwork. They know how to facilitate daily stand-up meetings a re willing to assist the product owner in maintaining the product backlog. Most important is to help the team stay focused on their tasks that need to be accomplished during each iteration. The Scrum Master is responsible for removing distractions and roadblocks that impede progress.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**

+ Demonstrate in-depth understanding of Agile processes, manage and execute backlog refining sessions for sprint teams, and provide recommendations based on metrics evaluated.

+ Work with the Product Owners for backlog grooming including prioritization. Ensure prioritization of features/capabilities with the customer to ensure higher priority items are identified and implemented first.

+ Serve the Product Owners/Client and Scrum Teams by guiding the team on how to use the agile processes. Develop and maintain relationships with internal/external customers.

+ Provide leadership to ensure the scrum team attains the most value from a self-organized team.

+ Take responsibility for impediments including resolving impediments, providing guidance for removing impediments, and escalating impediments to ensure quick resolution.

+ Facilitation of technical discussions, decision making, impediment resolution and conflict resolution.

+ Ensure transparency from Product Owner to scrum team by facilitating internal and external communication.

+ Perform continual assessment of the maturity of the scrum team and providing coaching and insight in support of greater maturity.

+ Commitment to continuous process improvement including active facilitation of reviews and retrospectives and incorporation of lessons learned for future sprints.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s Degree and 4 or more years of relevant experience

+ Knowledge and experience in Agile, specifically Scrum and Kanban

+ Knowledge and experience with the Department of Defense project life cycle.

+ Knowledge with using Jira and Confluence.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field) or equivalent, and 2 or more years of related (software development life cycle) experience.

+ Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification

+ Working knowledge and/or certification in SAFe methodology.

+ Passion for managing and exceeding customer expectations.

+ Experience working with military personnel.

**Security Clearance Requirements:**

+ Active  **Top Secret clearance**  is required to start with the ability to obtain and maintain **TS/SCI** .

**Physical Requirements:**

+ The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
