Surgical Tech Certified CST Women & Children's Unit Eligible for $5,000 Sign on Bonus

    • The Women & Children's Surgical Technologist (ST) utilizes surgical knowledge to assist in the preparation and care of surgical patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The ST possesses expertise in the theory and application of sterile aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a surgeon's performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. In addition, the Women & Children's Surgical Technologist is responsible for utilizing knowledge and skills learned to deliver direct patient care and provide accurate and efficient assistance to the RN as directed when needed for Labor and Delivery duties, as well as perform clerical and receptionist duties for the unit.
      • Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technician program

      • Current Surgical Technician Certification with the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required. Individuals hired prior to August, 1, 2007 and who graduated from a program that was not recognized by the NBSTSA at the time of their graduation are exempt from the certification requirement. Prior experience working in a Women & Children's/OB nursing unit preferred.
