Occupational Health Nurse

  • POSITION SUMMARY
    • The Occupational Health Nurse is the key health care provider serving Pardee Business and Industry Services. Working with the Medical Director and Pardee @ Work, will primarily be responsible for the oversight of on-site clinical activities, coordination of health related services for client-employers, and day-to-day management of clinic operations.
  • JOB SPECIFICATIONS
    •  EDUCATION                                                                                                                                           

      • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. ADN required, BSN preferred.
    •  LICENSURE                                                                                                                                            

      • Currently licensed by the North Carolina State Board of Nursing to practice as a RN (Registered Nurse)
    •  EXPERIENCE                                                                                                                                      

      • Minimum 3 year RN experience. Work related injuries and workman’s compensation law. Insurance claim management. Occupational Health and medical practice nursing skills. Must have excellent telephone, social, interpersonal and communication skills. Must possess service oriented behavior to all patients and staff, with a positive attitude and be an advocate to the institution and the patient. Basic computer skills, typing, Microsoft word and excel. Preferred experience in ISO/DNV policies and protocols. Must be able to work in an independent setting and work within scope of approved physician protocols.
    •  CERTIFICATION                                                                                                                                 

      • Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) certification preferred. After completing 3,000 hours of occupational health work, must complete OHN certification training and pass board exam within 6 months. BLS required. Maintains certification as DOT approved urine drug screen technician, following all DOT standards for drug testing. Maintains certification as Breath alcohol tester / trainer, following all DOT standards. Maintains certification for audiometry and spirometry testing. CPR Instructor training preferred. Must complete training within 6 months of hire. OSHA 10 certification preferred. Must complete training within 6 months of hire.
