Monitored Patient Transporter

Job Summary

    • The Monitored Patient Transporter provides safe and efficient transport of cardiac monitored patients to and from the Pardee Hospital, the Kayden Outpatient Center, and Pardee Cancer Center. Demonstrates the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms on the heart monitor and know when subsequent intervention is required as per hospital policy. May perform other duties as assigned, which include but not limited to, correctly applies cardiac monitors, obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs as requested, performing blood glucose checks as requested, monitoring flow rate of oxygen, establishing peripheral venous access as per Hospital Policy, discontinuing peripheral intravenous infusions, transporting of patients requiring ACLS level of monitoring, accurately providing bag-valve mask ventilation during emergent situation, performing non-critical transports / discharges, as requested, performing venous sampling for diagnostic laboratory testing and assisting with ED room turnover when stationed in that department.
      • Associate Degree in a Health Care related field or NC Paramedic certification required. Successful completion of an ACLS course required.

      • Recent experience, within the past 6 months, with appropriate response based on patient condition in emergency situations, including interpretation of cardiac rhythms and recognizing the need for medical intervention, up to but not limited to, patient resuscitation. Recent experience with utilizing ACLS protocols. Documented experience in obtaining peripheral IV access.
      • BLS, ACLS required
