The Director of Acute Quality Services is responsible for overseeing the administrative functions and directing the operational activities of Acute Quality services, Infection Prevention, and Interpreter Services in support of organizational goals for Quality and Zero Harm. The Director educates leadership, providers and staff on quality management principles, best practices, and metrics. Oversees the collection, monitoring, analysis, and reporting of key quality and infection control metrics, including value-based purchasing, Leapfrog, CMS star ratings, and others. Supports the Board Performance Improvement Committee. Collaborates with other quality leaders including physician network, DNV/ISO, and process innovation to provide comprehensive quality services to the organization and to the patients and communities we serve. Ensures compliance with regulatory standards. Serves as resource and subject matter expert to proactively address acute care quality issues. With CNO, leads acute care quality value stream. Promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, fosters teamwork, and champions excellence. Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within budget. Performs human resource functions for staff, including hiring new employees, staff development, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and morale. The Director reports to the Risk and Safety Officer.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Hospital Administration, or business is preferred
LICENSURE: Must be a Registered Nurse in NC
5+ years experience as a registered nurse within a healthcare system, with 3 years experience in Quality, Infection Control, or related area. Must include at least 3 years of management experience. Individuals should be resourceful, detail-oriented, and strategic. Effective communication skills are necessary with all audiences including Board members, senior administration, department directors and managers, and front line staff. Strong analytical skills are required as well as experience with data analysis. Excellent problem solver and critical thinker. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, balance priorities, and make decisions quickly. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. Lean experience preferred.
CERTIFICATION: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) is required (or obtained within 1 year of hire)
