Job Summary:
SR SYSTEMS IMPLEMENTATION ANALYST - LAB - Under the supervision of the IT Director, the Senior Systems Implementation Analyst - Lab applies analytical skills to requests for IT service - which may be high level and / or lacking in detail - to define and document requirements to satisfy IT customer objectives. The focus of this position is to be the key contact for all Laboratory applications and to be the liaison between the lab and other project teams. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments. This includes working with customers to develop a charter, project scope statement, detailed requirements, work break down structure and may include project implementation.

+ Software Application Administration
+ Manages assigned software applications by supporting and guiding customers in the maintenance of software functions, tools, tables or dictionaries.

+ Identifies and resolves or escalates and communicates operational failures to the necessary parties, e.g. technical services, vendors, IT Management, stakeholders etc.
+ Gathers, analyzes, recommends and submits software application enhancements to vendors with stakeholder approval.
+ Assumes responsibility and acts as project manager for all software application upgrades, patches / or STI activities.
+ Proactively monitors the performance of software applications or related services, e.g. ad hoc files, databases, etc., and resolves or escalates any problem situation.
+ Business Analysis
+ Interprets, analyzes and documents customer business practices and workflows as they relate to the implementation and delivery of new information products or services.
+ Seek business process improvements by working with customer to identify best practices and / or software application and optimization and enhancements.
+ Exercise creativity and resourcefulness to gather information; network with fellow vendor clients; conduct product searches; pursue software application enhancements in the pursuit of business process solutions.
+ Recommend, document and communicate business practice resolutions.
+ Acquire stakeholder sign-off; develop project charters and complete preparations for implementation and / or transition

+ Specialty Essential Functions:
+ Assures all related activities for support of the Sunquest Laboratory System and the IMPAC Power Path pathology systems are performed.
+ Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading lab and associated hardware and software to ensure optimal performance.
+ Assures backups and archives are completed as required.
+ Assures integration of the Lab Information System and the Pathology Information System with the hospital information systems.
+ Ensures quality of data by assuring proper entry of orders and results.
+ Plans for and supports initiatives to establish and maintain physician information exchange.
+ Assures information technology requirements for CAP are met.
+ Assists with strategic planning of laboratory initiatives to support the goals and objectives of Excela Health.
+ Plans for enhanced automation of the lab.
+ Marginal Functions: Defined as duties that are not essential in nature and do not take a considerable amount of time to complete (less than 10%).
+ Performs other duties as required.
+ Required Skills and Knowledge: Minimum level of education, skills and abilities necessary in performing the job.
Education:
+ Completion of Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Related Field
Certification / Licensure / Regulation:
+ Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system
Prior Experience:
+ 5 years’ experience in IT analysis and applications system environment.
+ Proven experience with managing projects.
Other Skills and Abilities:
+ Knowledge of basic Office Equipment such as copier, fax machine, etc.
+ Proficiency in the use of Excel Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and various software programs
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook
+ Strong leadership ability, independent thinking and decision-making ability; analytical problem solving skills, sound judgment; excellent oral and written communication skills, must be able to function in a team environment.
+ Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
+ Prepared to continually expand and maintain job knowledge and skills to adapt to the ever changing needs of customers. Willing to respond to off hour’s emergency requests for IT application support. Able to travel out of town and participate in overnight travel for education classes, conferences and site visits when needed.
Preferred Factor:

+ Master’s Degree in IT, Business, or related field
+ Prior health care experience preferred. Prior Laboratory Information Systems experience. Prior experience with Sunquest Laboratory systems and IMPAC Power Path pathology systems PMP Certification preferred.
