A Medical Technologist performs a variety of complex clinical
laboratory analyses on blood, body fluids, and other biological
specimens to obtain data which may be used in the diagnosis,
monitoring, and treatment of disease.  Performs additional procedures
and related duties following established professional standards and
practices within the field of laboratory medicine.  The Patient
Centered Care provided to each patient is specific to the patient's
particular physical, age-specific and psychosocial needs.  The patient
populations served by this position include neonate, infant, pediatric,
adolescent, adult and geriatric.  Medical technologists work in all
areas of the clinical laboratory including blood banking, chemistry,
hematology, immunology, and microbiology and perform a full range of
laboratory tests - from simple serology tests, to more complex tests to
uncover diseases.  Responsible for confirming the accuracy of test
results, and reporting laboratory findings to pathologists and other
physicians. Operate complex electronic equipment, computers, and
precision instrumentation.
