Safety Coordinator

**General Responsibility**

The **_Safety Training Coordinator_** will conduct various safety related audits throughout the facility. They will also be responsible for conducting safety training, forklift training and reporting of monthly safety statistics.

**Job Duties**

+ Work with all shift Supervisors and Managers at multiple sites to establish and maintain training needs.

+ Help administer daily safety needs and for all shifts.

+ Develop and execute new employee orientation

+ Develop the Buddy Program.

+ Active member of the SEAL team

+ Maintain PIT, Personnel Lifts, Training & Education, JSA’s, Elevated Work, SEAL books and documents

+ Participate in safety and ergonomics committee

+ Participate in Safety Incident meetings

+ Compose and conduct monthly safety meeting, including slide show, with all crew members and track attendance for all shifts

+ Often used as first call for injury or illness

+ Participate in accident investigations

+ Participate on special projects i.e.; labeling, HR events and others

+ Assist operation leads in solving problems

+ Maintain high level of communication with leads and supervisors regarding safety and training needs for all shifts.

+ Develop a good working relationship with all team members

+ Create and manage all training programs including orientation, forklift (class and practical), area training and record keeping for the DC programs

+ Conduct classroom lift truck training for all shifts in the DC

+ Maintain, manage and record all safety suggestion submitted

+ Assist supervisors, as needed, using a flexible schedule to conduct all retraining for drivers and/or team members as needed for all shifts

+ Give tours to visitors

**Essential Functions**

+ Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach and grasp for varying periods during work hours

+ Must be able to see with or without correction

+ Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Associate degree (preferred)

+ 5 years’ experience with plant production and forklift equipment (preferred)

+ Previous experience in Safety/OSHA regulations preferred

+ Must be available and flexible to work different hours to cover all shifts

+ Act as first responder in facility emergencies

+ Respond to trouble calls

+ Work with fellow associates to solve safety and maintenance issues

+ Be professional in all communications with fellow associates and other departments, including radio communication
