Business Manager

**Overview**

At Acosta, we work with major consumer brands (CPG). Our Business Managers increase the market share of the brands we represent in an established market. We are company of exceptional people who take pride in the clients and customers we represent and no day is ever the same!

**Responsibilities**

We provide our client and customers the tools needed to deliver solutions and achieve their goals with merchandising, assortment, pricing, and shelf positioning. These initiatives result in maximizing market share.

We are seeking self-motivated professionals who can create these solutions and have the ability to:

+ **Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of vendors’ products, programs, and issues. Communicate potential opportunities to gain new business for each client with Independent Pet Retailers, Regional Pet chains, and Pet Distributors both national and regional.**

+ **Cover multi-state territory conducting HQ calls with regional chains and distributors and also visit individual Independent Pet stores. Clients or Distributor Rep may join in some sales calls.**

+ **Expect to travel 2-3 days each week** **, typically Tuesday through Thursday. Some store visits local and drive-able.**

+ **Effectively utilize provided software tools to communicate activity to clients in a timely manner**

+ **Become an expert; constantly expand product, vendor, category and industry knowledge.**

+ **Aggressively pursue new business opportunities with New and Current Vendors. Participate in trade shows and Distributor selling events.**

+ **Actively communicate with Manager and other sales team members to share pertinent information.**

+ **Protect and secure all confidential and proprietary information.**

+ **Ensure the timely resolution of issues involving deliveries, product quality, packaging, billing, etc. Proactively provide solutions.**

+ **Answer emails and vendor inquiries in a timely manner to be outlined by manager**

**Qualifications**

**Qualifications** **:**

+ **Bachelor’s degree preferred.**

**Work Experience Requirements:**

+ **5-7 years of direct selling experience, preferably calling on Independent retail chains, stores, and distributors. Preferred experience in the Pet Channel.**

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:**

+ **Negotiation skills to include strategy development and tactical technique.**

+ **Marketing/Analytical skills to include accessing and interpreting AC Nielson data, post-promotion analysis and category management.**

+ **Logistics skills to include knowledge of order processing, inventory tracking, client and customer distribution methods.**

+ **Presentation skills to include preparation, delivery and handling questions.**

+ **Sales skills to include understanding the sales process, contracts and client promotion systems.**

+ **Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point**

+ **Ability to travel by car or plane**
