Associate Finance Manager - Multiple Openings !

*This posting represents multiple openings within Unilever's Finance organization based in Englewood Cliffs (North America HQ) that are active openings*

These positions will be part of a hybrid work environment which requires 40% of the work week in the Englewood Cliffs, NJ HQ office to support collaboration, relationship building and team fun! Fridays will be work from home.

Who You Are and What You’ll Do

Our Associate Finance Manager roles are aligned with Unilever’s key business processes and serve as strategic partners to bring an understanding of Finance, value creation and business drivers. They make recommendations and influence decisions that maximize value for the organization. Our AFMs build and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional partners to develop annual financial plans and ongoing forecasts for departmental expenses and headcounts.

What Else Do They Do?

+ Support analytical and business frameworks as well as a quantitative approach to decision-making that shape the overall strategic course of the organization.

+ Focus on operations including but not limited to formulation of pricing strategies, business assessment of new product initiatives, economic evaluation of capital expenditures, competitive analysis and benchmarking, and business process redesign.

+ Analyze financial results and key trends, assess current and future business risks, and communicate results to leadership.

+ Involvement with special projects related to business development, strategic growth and ad hoc analysis.

These roles sit within one of the pillars of Finance listed below:

Customer Development (CD/Sales) Finance: Lead our optimal strategy for our sales teams to fund value added initiatives guiding the business with the best way to promote our brands. You are the gatekeeper to determine where we choose to invest in our brands, through focused risk/reward analysis on the value of partnering with key customers. Long term planning and short term execution balancing is crucial to the success of the role, and allows for a creative and analytical mind to succeed!

Business Partnering: Hone your negotiation and influencing skills by leading your business partners in guiding the business towards long term success. Interact cross functionally with Marketing, Sales or Supply Chain with ownership of specific category (Ice Cream, Hair Care) from a finance lens. The role will touch all aspects of the business, including what new products will be launched, what new advert campaigns will go live, and where further investment will go. On innovative business cases for example, you will come with a creative mind while understanding the financial goals of Unilever to uncover the best path for investment. Partner with leadership to deliver bottom line and push Unilever to new heights!

Supply Chain Finance: Prepare to challenge yourself and your business partners through value creation across our extensive supply chain network. Drive bottom line results and deliver value by leading cost optimization and holistic margin management analyzing complex business cases. Develop supply chain strategy with leadership managing and optimizing our long term goals and paths for success!

Controllers: Through a holistic view of the North America business, you will learn how each finance pillar operates as you navigate the cross-functional departments to provide the assurance, governance, and guidance to ensure control compliance. You will align with global standard control framework and policies internally and statutory standards externally. Become the subject matter expert in key controllership functional areas as the steward of value creation which is critical for ensuring compliance and long term health of Unilever.

FET (Finance Excellence Team): Drive financial success by partnering across the organization on crafting financial plans and driving decision making to achieve targets. Implement process improvements to unlock and democratize financial analysis tools as you partner with senior leaders on deep analysis. A critical role of the FET is now centered around the Digitalization of Unilever, with a focus on Robotic Process Automation, Machine Learning, and Python driven Automation.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA or CPA strongly preferred

+ 4+ of relevant finance experience required, for example Brand/Marketing, Supply Chain, Sales, Audit, Accounting, Financial Reporting, or Financial Planning is preferred

+ Experience creating and implementing operational improvement solutions

+ Experience communicating financial acumen effectively with all levels of the organization

KEY QUALITIES: Enterprising and inquisitive nature that can find solutions to complex problems - Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly communicate results and implications of analysis - Enjoys working in a collaborative team environment

Pay: The pay range for this position is $83,200 to $124,700. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs. Bonus: This position is bonus eligible. Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible. Benefits: Unilever employees are eligible to participate in our benefits plan.
