This role will provide strategic and operational support to Global Head Clinical Development and Chief Medical Office This includes managing day-to-day strategic and operational elements of CD&CMO office as well as the preparation of content for both strategic initiatives and operational activities on behalf of Head of CD & CMO. What you will be doing: • Create strategic documents / material for approval at ECN and Board of Directors • Support Global Head CD & CMO in preparing and tracking objectives • Continuously look for new and better ways to deliver CD&CMO goals Operational Excellence: Contribute to or lead key strategic projects driving operational improvement, innovation or transformation. Culture: Act as conduit for communication, support cultural initiatives • Support Comms & Engagement in preparing a compelling and consistent narrative for internal and ex-ternal speaking engagements • Drive key CD&CMO leadership and Townhall meetings • Partner with finance to manage CD&CMO budget • Streamline and manage governance for the Head of CD &CMO, ensuring consistent messaging across various governance forums (GLT, CD&CMO LT • Represents the Head of CD &CMO with senior teams, when needed. • Undertake diagnostics, study and analysis as required, suggest recommendations, and drive result-ant actions as approved • Navigates complexity and drives effectiveness across the function and in collaboration with other functions in Novartis • Manages and executes internal strategic projects (e.g. culture, organizational, process, change, …) • Manages forums and communications related to unit performance and bringing to life the vision of the Head CD&CMO, including leadership and CD&CMO Live events. \n\n\n\n **Position Title:** Head, Strategy & Operations (Clinical Development) **Role Requirements:** What you'll bring to the role: • Graduate degree in sciences with higher-level degree (MBA, MD, PhD). • Significant Global and/or regional/or country experience, and highly preferred previous experience in strategy consulting or other strategic role a plus. • Strong drug development and scientific background with understanding of commercial and drug development with proven previous commercial and/ or development experience (min. 5 years) to be a credible face with senior GDD/NIBR/ stakeholders, • Strong leadership experience and ability to interact, influence and coordinate senior Leaders • Ability to gain trust and confidence at all levels in the organization, leadership and project management experience, expertise in organization dynamics and culture. • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills. • Proven level of autonomy, ability to ask the right questions in unfamiliar situations, agility and flexibility. • Robust track record in project management, change management and ability to manage multiples projects across disciplines • Problem-solving, active listening and ability to provide clear and concise documentation (text summaries and slides) • English: fluent, spoken & written (required). The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $183,200 - $274,800 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
