Principal IT Architect - Business Intelligence Engineering (Duluth, GA)

The person in this role will work three days per week from the Medtronic facility located in Duluth, Georgia. The person in this role may work remotely up to two days per week.

The Principal IT Architect – Business Intelligence Engineering is a hands-on individual contributor and technical peer leader. In this role, you will design and deliver compelling visualization and enterprise reporting solutions stakeholders within the Diabetes business.

**A DAY IN THE LIFE**

• Design and develop practical solutions for complex reporting needs

• Apply data modeling techniques and standard practices to implement BI self-service and automated reporting

• Perform requirements gathering and thoroughly analyze platform requirements

• Use leadership abilities to drive Analytics/UI/UX for Digital Transformation from discovery through delivery

• Collaborate with Process leads, Business SMEs of digital transformation program and provide the leadership to define the analytics strategy and execution plan

• Offer insight, guidance, and direction on the usage of emerging analytics trends and technical capabilities

• Design and develop Advanced Analytics applications using Power BI, Tableau, SQL Warehouses including ETL pipelines using AWS Platform

• Develop and lead governance process for Reporting, visualization, and self- service analytics

• Provide recommendations to improve the architecture of our reporting solution

• Drive best practices in operational excellence, data modelling, and analysis

• Implement training and documentation solutions that enable business stakeholders to get the most out of our self-serve reporting tools

• Own key executive reports and metrics for use by executive leadership and the field organization

• Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to create and iterate on key performance indicators and new methodologies for measurement

• Offer insight, guidance, and direction on the usage of emerging data analytics trends and technical capabilities

• Maintain privacy, security, and compliance of the Data Business Intelligence Platform (SOX, CCAP Etc.)

**MUST HAVE** (Minimum Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree

• 7+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree

**NICE TO HAVE** (Preferred Qualifications)

• Strongly Preferred:

o Bachelor’s or advanced degree in STEM discipline

o Advanced knowledge of Data Warehouse ETL design and development, methodologies, tools, processes, and best practices

o Experience utilizing BI tools with Snowflake and Databricks

• 5+ years of experience designing UI, developing reports, and Power BI visualization, and dimensional reporting utilizing Tableau Dimensional reporting.

• 4+ years completing SQL data analysis

• Experience optimizing data visualizations for performance, usability, and ease of interpretation

• Experience working on a team to design and implement dimensional models

• Prior BI platform launches using Reports, KPI Management, IAM, data governance, and executive dashboards

• 3+ years’ experience in Tableau Server and Power BI administration

• Practical knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
