The Staff Cyber Systems Security Engineer (SSE) will support large program business development activities for Space Programs, with responsibilities across Space Segments, Communications Segments, and Ground Segments. This senior candidate must be a strategic planner with exceptional cybersecurity experience and demonstrable knowledge in security architectures as may be applied to complex space systems. Experience developing cost basis of estimates, detailed work breakdown structures for cyber engineering work scope, and integrated cyber recurring and non-recurring cyber engineering activity schedules.

**Job Responsibilities:**

+ Work as part of an integrated product team (IPT) to architect baseline space solutions that have security built-in. All aspects of the program, across all segments and down to the lowest elements must be considered within scope of the security hardening efforts required for strategic programs & initiatives.

+ Leverage national and international cyber regulations for the cybersecurity implementation. Candidate must be highly familiar with variations of the US-based guidelines: Risk Management Framework (RMF) for CyberSecurity and understand the objectives of CyberResilience and CyberSurvivability initiatives. Applying and correlating these to International standards for coalition partners and their native standards is essential for this effort.

+ Coordinate with international partners to recruit and hire cyber engineers for design, development and eventual operational defense of space systems.

+ System Security Engineering requirements management in support of early program protection requirements, working with systems engineers to decompose system-level security requirements across the segments and down to specific components, across disciplines Anti-Tamper, TEMPEST, Cybersecurity (RMF), and cryptographic component integration/development.

+ Lead engineering teams in the execution of all system security engineering development efforts, including but not limited to Attack Surface Analysis (ASA), Threat-based Risk Analysis, Flight Software Static Code Analysis, Ground Software Static & Dynamic Analysis, Supply Chain Risk Management, Trusted Component Analysis.

+ Lead engineering teams through developmental testing aligned with the overall systems engineering effort’s Verification and Validation plans. This must include ensuring all teams implement positive & negative testing, fuzzing of inputs at all interface points, and penetration testing at critical developmental milestones.

+ Lead teams in preparation of Systems Security Plans (SSP) documentation for complex space systems, including Security Control Traceability Matrices (SCTM) and Security Assessment Plans/Reports.

+ Prepare and Execute assessment procedures to verify conformance with objective metrics, as required based on the specified customer/system requirements.

+ Perform systems engineering, integration, and test activities for security-critical components, such as Cross Domain Solutions, cryptographic devices, and controlled interfaces.

+ Support Cyber Operational Test & Evaluation of systems to meet critical program milestones.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Must have active Top Secret Security Clearance, with SCI, and DCID 6/4 eligibility.

+ MS Degree with 14 years of experience in IA/Cyber in the Defense-Aerospace industry or BS degree in STEM Science Technology Engineering Math with 16 years of IA/cybersecurity experience, in Defense-Aerospace industry.

+ Current DoD 8570 IASAE Level II certification.

+ Experience overseeing complex security infrastructure deployments on Space systems that leverage DISA Host Based Security System (HBSS) or Endpoint Security Suite (ESS) solutions.

+ Excellent technical document preparation skills (Tech Vol, Basis of Estimates, Cost VolSSP, SCTM, RAR, ASA, SOPs, POAMs) and related artifacts as required to satisfy security controls across all families.

+ Demonstrated ability to communicate with senior stakeholders ranging from technical staffers (CTO, CISO, and Engineering Directors) up to senior program managers (BU Director, VP, PM, O-6).

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Masters Degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering or Computer Science

+ International cybersecurity business development experience

+ +20 years Cyber Systems Engineering, Systems Security Engineering experience in multi-national defense/aerospace industry

+ Current CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP or equivalent IASAE level III certification.


Salary Range: $161,000.00 - $241,400.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
