Patient Care Technician (PCT) - CNA - Stepdown - Trauma Surgery

Unit Description: 2 East is an exciting and dynamic trauma/surgical unit. The unit consists of 20 bed unit with 14 trauma beds, 6 medical/surgical beds reserved for the care of 23 hour observation patients as well as admitted patients who have sustained orthopedic, neurological, blunt force, or penetrating trauma. The other ten beds are reserved for the pre and post operative nursing care of patients with the following types of surgeries: General, Vascular, Thoracic, Abdominal, Gastrointestinal, Urology, Bariatric, and ENT.

Scheduled Hours: This associate will work three 12 hour shifts per week starting at 7:00PM. This will include rotating weekends and holidays.

What You Will Do

Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.

+ Aid with movement and placement of patients.

+ Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.

+ Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Document necessary records.

+ Keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

+ BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.

Education:

+ High school diploma or GED required.

Certified candidates with prior leadership experience, candidates with prior applicable experience, or current nursing students are preferred. Come join our team!
