IT Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager of Information Technology provides technical and managerial leadership in establishing goals and priorities and in the overall IT Site management of day to day operations at AHMC- Seton Medical Center, Seton Coastside, and associated business offices and office buildings. This position is directly involved in design, planning, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the facility’s infrastructure including telecommunications (as applicable), desktop and server support, network cabling and wiring and help desk. The IT Manager ensures continuity and alignment of the Information Technology Department strategic and operational plans and facility’s needs. The Manager of Information Technology ensures that key information assets are continuously secure and well-integrated.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

+ Ensure processes are followed to provide effective and beneficial IT services.

+ Provide personnel management of site-specific Desktop and Physician Support Teams.

+ Oversee foundational components of Desktop Support - metrics, process, organization, tools, and skills.

+ Oversee first-line support and training to physicians accessing multiple applications including, but not limited to the Verity EHR, Physician Specialty Applications, and the Physician Portal.

+ Provide site IT Management functions to support all departments of the hospitals.

+ Participate in local hospital management activities.

+ Assure the hospital engages in enterprise IT projects and activities.

+ Maintain and improve service quality and measuring customer satisfaction through quality standards and measurements.

+ Maintain a high level of morale within the IT Teams.

+ Manage end-user relations to ensure requirements are clearly understood and implemented by identifying opportunities and leading initiatives that focus on internal process improvement and customer service performance.

+ Respond to and/or handle escalations received from management or customers in a timely fashion, ensuring issues are resolved or escalated to the appropriate group.

TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

+ Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, healthcare and/or 5 years of equivalent work experience is required.

+ Certification and/or understanding of ITIL processes and standards.

+ Seven or more years of progressively more responsible healthcare information technology with 3-5 years management experience and/or 5+ years Revenue Cycle and or Clinical Systems information technology experience in a multi-facility Acute Care Hospital environment.

+ Working knowledge of system application implementation, enhancement and support methods and practices.

+ Thorough knowledge and understanding of information management, patient accounting financial information, dedicated departmental systems, decision support systems and office automation systems.

+ Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of systems, organization and management analysis.

+ Comprehensive working knowledge of computer systems analysis and programming techniques and procedures, including: consulting with users to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications; design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing, coding, debugging, or modification of computer systems or programs based on and related to user design specifications.

+ Working knowledge of IT standards and quality methods and metrics.

+ General familiarity of user business practices, concepts and terminology sufficient to support the applications.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

+ Familiarity with PCs and related software

+ Familiarity with server operating systems and general administration skills

+ Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with associates and superiors

+ Ability to organize multiple job tasks and work independently

+ Strong communication, organization, and project management skills are necessary for this position

+ Exhibits strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel

+ Demonstrates flexibility in rapidly changing environments

+ Able to work under stressful situations

+ Excellent analytical skills

+ Strong problem solving skills with well-organized and structured work habits.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE

+ Preferred Advanced degree or equivalent in Information Discipline, MCSE, or related IT Experience.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

+ Healthcare support experience. Knowledge of Healthcare delivery processes.

+ Demonstrated ability to lead teams, gain consensus, and move teams toward a shared vision.

+ Strong knowledge of IT Service Management practices and principles.

+ Strong analytical skills.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

+ Exemplary customer service skills and communication etiquette.

+ Ability to share expertise to team members to develop them to improve their performance.

+ Understanding of key KPI's and metrics.

+ Five plus years of experience providing support to users in an IT environment.

+ In-depth knowledge and experience working in an IT Support Service Environment
