+ Strong object-oriented programming and design skills
+ Strong analytical and problem solving skills
+ Experience with back-end frameworks (e.g. Ruby on Rails, Django)
+ Experience with databases and indexing (e.g. Cassandra, SQL, Solr)
+ A technical background in UNIX commands in Terminal
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The environment is fast-paced, requiring the ability to work autonomously and to manage to aggressive delivery schedules. Suitable candidates should have a strong background in Computer Science, excellent problem solving skills and passion to improve existing processes and tools. The right mix of technical, organizational, and communication skills is key to success. Attention to detail and a proven ability to manage priorities are essential. Specific responsibilities will include: - Designing, developing and improving back-end web services - Working cross-functionally with teams across Engineering to add support for new software features - Troubleshooting and resolving complex software integration issues
**Education & Experience**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
+ Preferred Skills
+ - Experience designing reusable API
+ - Interest and background in translation, internationalization, localization, and international markets
+ - Native level foreign language skills in reading, writing and speaking
+ - Familiarity with Swift
+ - Familiarity with version control systems such as subversion or git
+ - A track record of shipping products
