Materials Engineer - Glass Coatings
Santa Clara Valley (Cupertino),California,United States
+ 2+ years experience in glass component design, validation and production with inline/ large area coatings
+ Deep technical knowledge of optical and thermal coatings on glass and associated processes
+ Experience with coating reliability testing and standards
+ Familiarity with basic analysis methods (SEM, EDS, etc)
+ Strong analytical/problem solving skills and ability to use statistical tools and techniques
+ Flexibility and comfort working in a quickly changing environment
You will help to create the next generation of the world's finest electronic devices. You will drive the rapid advancement of materials and processes that are the building blocks of our devices. You will work closely with many different cross-functional teams including Industrial Design, Operations, and Reliability.
**Education & Experience**
BS Materials Science / Ceramic Engineering. MS or PhD preferred.
+ Preferred Experience:
+ * Experience with coating compatibility on 3d shapes and glass forming processes
+ * Experience with coating requirements for glazing applications (eg. Architectural, Automotive, Consumer Electronics)
+ * Experience with various glass composition families (soda lime, aluminosilicate)
+ * Experience with high-quality cosmetic parts and finishes
+ * Track record of material selection and development for products with demanding performance requirements
+ This position will require international travel (20%+)
