ABOUT THE ROLE

Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT) is a $6 billion global leader in providing customers with technologies and materials for petroleum refining and petrochemical processes and high-performance specialty materials, including fluorine products; specialty films and additives; advanced fibers and composites; intermediates; specialty chemicals; and electronic materials and chemicals.

Honeywell’s Colonial Heights facility manufactures high performance polyethylene fiber that’s used in a variety of applications including medical sutures, ballistic protection, industrial rope, and cut resistance.

Be a part of a team of Quality Engineers that applies its expertise and knowledge in finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve quality output and continuous improvements. You will drive process initiatives that ensures compliance with customer requirements, regulatory agencies, government regulations and engineering specifications while instilling site accountability for governance of the Quality System, product acceptance and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

+ Achieve plant targets for SQDIC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost) by supporting daily execution in assigned Quality Control Labs

+ Execute Management of Change (MOC) process including plant trials and new product development.

+ Execute Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve & Control) process for existing plant operations, as well as new product development.

+ Maintain site ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 certifications by supporting both internal and external audits

+ Lead root cause analysis (RCA) efforts to address quality opportunities

+ Drive business impact by improving year-over-year (YOY) performance for key area metrics

+ Champion quality control plans through software programs such as LabVantage Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS.)

+ Accurately report quality data into the attainment system

+ Represent the Voice of the Customer (VOC) in supporting daily quality execution, new product development, and responses to customer concerns

+ Develop new standard operating procedures, controlled documents, and training material

+ Partner with production leadership, engineering, and unionized technicians to troubleshoot nonconformance and present strategic corrective actions.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

+ A Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, chemical, or textile engineering

+ 2-plus years' experience

+ 1 or more years of experience in quality control, production, or process engineering in industries such as: chemical, textiles, refinery, pulp & paper, pharmaceutical, petro-chemical, or medical device

+ Familiarity with ISO quality management systems

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

WE VALUE

+ 3-plus years of experience in a chemical plant environment

+ Previous experience in greenfield and new facility start-up is a major plus

+ Experience supporting an ISO 13485, CGMP, or ISO 9001 quality system

+ Six Sigma certification preferred

+ Experience in LabVantage, LIMS, or another quality control software

+ Experience in SAP or other ERP system

+ Outstanding time management skills

+ A mentality of "ownership" over one's work and processes
