Registered Respiratory Therapist - Pulmonary - 7 On / 7 Off

Our Pulmonary team is the largest respiratory care department in the enterprise, serving patients with the highest levels of acuity. Respiratory Therapists (RTs) in this unit work at the full scope of their licensure-with a high level of independence and clinical decision-making.

This unique schedule offers a work-life balance with 7 days on followed by 7 days off, allowing you to focus on both professional excellence and personal well-being.

This schedule is ideal for candidates who value both professional fulfillment and the ability to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

**A caregiver in this position will work nights, 7:00PM - 7:30AM for 7 days, and then they will be off for 7 days. This will include rotating weekend and holiday requirements.**

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

+ Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including but not limited to:

+ Arterial blood gas sampling and analysis

+ Administration of aerosolized medications

+ Non-invasive and invasive mechanical ventilation management

+ Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.

+ Provide patient and family education on respiratory therapies, equipment use, and disease management.

+ Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.

+ Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies, including code situations, rapid responses, and trauma cases.

+ Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety.

+ Stay current with the latest evidence-based practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.

Minimum qualifications include:

+ Associate's Degree and graduate of a CoARC accredited Respiratory Therapy Program

+ Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialing through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)

+ Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ Previous experience in adult critical care

+ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

+ Bachelor's Degree

**Physical Requirements:**

+ Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

+ Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.

+ May require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.

+ Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

+ Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

**Personal Protective Equipment:**

+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

**Pay Range**

Minimum hourly: $32.00

Maximum hourly: $43.80
