Supports Climate risk management program for assigned divisions/functions. Maintain a balance between increased efficiency and appropriate risk mitigation and controls for the Line of Business (LOB)/function in alignment with Enterprise Risk Management vision and strategy and the LOB strategic plan. The Climate Risk Analyst provides oversight and credible challenge to LOB/functions and escalates concerns, as appropriate, in support of the Bank's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Understands all Climate Risk Program elements, methodology, governance, standards and procedures, including templates and overall framework.
+ Administers the Climate Risk Scenario Analysis program including facilitation of meetings and coordination of inputs and outputs.
+ Provides oversight and credible challenge through Climate Risk Scenario Analysis and other climate-related activities.
+ Supports governance of climate-related risks by preparing risk reporting, supporting working groups, and maintaining program documentation.
+ Performs benchmarking of standards and practices from public disclosures and industry working groups.
+ Maintains data sets and leverages data to drive analysis within the climate risk team and by others.
+ Maintains Program documentation ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly defined.
+ Supports Climate Risk communication and education initiatives including maintenance of the Climate Risk ILP and resources.
+ Develops and produces reporting.
+ Understands the organizational structure, key management personnel, and primary objectives of the LOBs supported.
+ Serves as lead resource and provide guidance to the LOB on climate risk management.
+ May participate in or lead program councils or working groups.
+ Ensures policies, guidelines, and procedures are consistently and uniformly applied within the line of business division and ensure proper review and timely update in accordance with the established review cycle to ensure they are kept up to date.
+ Provides oversight of line of business development of climate risk practices.
+ Acts as a climate risk subject matter expert and provide guidance for new processes and enhancements.
+ Produces high quality work that is appropriate for senior leader and regulatory purposes
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
+ Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
+ 3 years of experience, banking experience preferred.
+ A clear understanding of the Bank's approach to the management of enterprise risk, or equivalent experience gained in other organizations.
+ Demonstrated ability to organize and lead program discussions, maintaining productivity and professionalism while navigating ambiguity and uncertainty.
+ Professional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with discretion and understanding when confidentiality is needed.
+ Must demonstrate intellectual curiosity, be analytical and possess the ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations across a complex business(es).
+ Must have a general understanding of banking and banking regulations.
+ Must be results and goal oriented, possess sound judgment and ability to apply logical/critical thought processes when approaching work or making recommendations for solutions.
+ Ability to work in a dynamic work environment that requires multiple demands, shifting priorities, and rapid change.
+ Must be able to maintain independence and objectivity in all aspects of position.
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Demonstrated Ability to learn applications and internal banking systems.
+ Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like.
+ Extended time at desk and/or viewing computer screen.
