Rush Day School is seeking a part-time elementary/middle school Physical Education teacher to instruct and assist students in mastering subject matter and skills while at the same time encouraging and supporting their positive academic and social growth.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities include:
+ Providing an environment that supports the social development of all students.
+ Advocates for all learners, focusing on student achievement, and building on student successes by committing to continuous instructional improvement.
+ Supervising classrooms, students, and classroom staff.
+ Assessing student progress regularly and providing progress reports, report cards, and other documents as required.
+ May be asked to teach a health class, serve as a substitute teacher, and/or attend field trips
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
+ Effective oral and written communication skills
+ Ability to work with students and adults in a positive manner
+ Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of employee, student, and other sensitive information.
**Position Qualifications Include:**
+ Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university
+ Previous experience preferred, especially with special education
+ Adaptive Physical Education endorsement a plus
+ Valid Professional Educator License with Physical Education endorsement
+ Professional Educator License registered with ROE
+ Health endorsement
+ Adapted Physical Education endorsement
