Lic Clinical Social Worker - Road Home Program
Active Regular FT (72 to 80 hours per pay period)
Rush University Medical Center presents an exciting opportunity for a **Licensed Clinical Social Worker in our Psychiatry-Road Home Program department.**
**General Summary** :
The Road Home Program: Center for Veterans and their Families (RHP) is dedicated to assisting and supporting current service members (active duty, reserve, and National Guard), veterans, and their families with vital clinic services focused on PTSD, TBI, counseling, and therapy. RHP will provide those services in support and collaborating with existing veteran and service member organizations.The therapist/counselor will provide the necessary counseling and support to help stabilize the family and their service member or veteran. Insight and direction for RHP clients will be offered to ensure that clients are connected to other services and support in the community. The therapist/counselor will work in collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, counselors and other members of Road Home Program (RHP)'s multidisciplinary team. Care will be focused on specific assigned patient populations including family, children, marriage/couples, and veterans. This position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
+ Assesses and evaluates veterans for who present themselves for Intensive Outpatient Program care; provides professional outpatient counseling and treatment with the goal of maximizing personal/family stability
+ Prepares intake summaries, treatment plans, and case summaries while maintain ongoing confidential records.
+ Charts members' treatment and progress in accordance with state and other regulations in keeping with accepted community standards.
+ Develops, implements, and evaluates treatment approaches for clients and affected family members, including individual, family, group, or intensive therapeutic modalities.
+ Confers and consults with center physicians regarding clients' progress and treatment; this may include conferring with attending physicians regarding hospitalized clients regarding recommendations for treatment plans.
+ Utilizes resources within the community that support service members and veterans to meet the needs of the client's treatment goals (those community resources will offer options for referrals to external resources for the client and/or family members).
+ Participates in development, implementation, and evaluation of programs within the psychiatry department at Rush.
+ Develops and conducts psycho-educational classes and groups.
**Position Qualifications Include:**
+ Current State of Illinois licensure required as Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
+ Master's degree in psychology, social work, or applied behavioral science required.
+ At least two years of post-license experience as a member of a psychiatric treatment team in an outpatient setting under licensed supervision.
+ In-depth experience working with one or more of the following patient groups required: family, children, couples, or veterans
+ Previous work with service members, veterans, and their families strongly preferred.
+ Experience with evidence-based therapies for the treatment of trauma
+ Strong active listening, critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills required.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
+ Proficiency with MS Office required.
+ Ability to sense problems or potential problems.
+ Ability to apply inductive and deductive reasoning to information received and identifying relationships between seemingly unrelated events/information.
