Our **Charlottesville, Virginia** , Machining and Fabrication department has an immediate opening for **Manager General Manufacturing 1** in the Machine Shop cell to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

**Roles and Responsibilities:**

+ Oversees daily activities of assigned production area to achieve departmental objectives

+ Daily time approvals

+ Works with Production Control to establish weekly schedule to support customer requirements for all programs

+ Communicates priorities to the team leader and team

+ Ensures compliance to all company policies and procedures

+ Establishes team and individual goals

+ Ensures performance review processes are followed/completed

+ Ensures team members receive the required training

+ Encourages and provides direction for career development of employees, including educational options for highly motivated employees.

+ Provides leadership/direction to ensure all affordability initiatives and opportunities for process improvements are systematically identified, pursued, and supported.

+ Ensures all required equipment and process documentation is available

+ Support all internal/external audits

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; **or** an Associate Degree plus 6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; **or** a minimum of 10 years manufacturing experience **_in lieu of degree_** **.**

+ Demonstrated ability leading people and developing processes.

+ Ability to collaborate in a team environment while resolving challenges and driving creative solutions.

+ Ability to make decisions that impact the organization’s credibility, operations, and services.

+ U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline.

+ Direct experience with CNC programming and model-based design.

+ Experience managing or executing machine shop manufacturing.

+ Ability to work through challenges, independently address personnel issues, and work with minimal direction.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

+ SAP experience.

Salary Range: $77,600.00 - $116,400.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
