The franchisee controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including the selection and hiring process. As the second in command, the Assistant General Manager actively contributes to the overall operation of the hotel providing strong leadership to the team. Specifically, this person has direct influence and accountability for the cost structure, quality standards, Aloft culture and guest satisfaction. In the absence of the General Manager he/she is responsible for the physical property as well as the operation, the Talent and the guest. They have great knowledge of hotel operations, committed to guest satisfaction and providing a great experience every time. Understanding that it is the Talent who make the experience great.
+ Operate all aspects of the hotel in the absence of the General Manager by following brand standards and established
+ Operating procedures as set forth by the ownership
+ Assist the GM to achieve maximum profitability through active
+ Cost and labor control
+ Maintain or exceed target standards with regard to maintenance and cleanliness for guestrooms, the public space and all associated facilities
+ Assure the highest standards of security for hotel patrons and Employees
+ Daily and monthly accounting functions including daily cash reconciliation, checkbook accounting and AR account management including sending sales invoices and processing direct bill applications. Additionally, ensuring petty cash is accounted and submitted each month.
+ Oversee Inventory and management of F&B
+ Prepare all management schedules including weekly review of line level Talent.
+ Conduct employee performance evaluations and discipline as prescribed
+ Ensure all Talent are trained to maximize service, productivity and efficiency.
+ Assign and delegate responsibility and authority to individual department leaders to most effectively mange the operation.
+ Hold regularly scheduled (monthly) meetings to ensure communication between departments leads to maximum guest
+ Satisfaction and financial performance.
+ Assist and Manage, Front Desk Manager (Guest Services Manager) with front desk operations and culinary to ensure procedures are followed and compliant with Aloft and Northwood. Assist desk as business demands. Ensure night audit reports are completed accurately.
+ Assist the General Manager with budgeting, forecasting and P&L preparation
+ MUST be able to work a flexible shift that includes: Days, Afternoons, Nights and Weekends. Plus work Holidays as well, if needed.
