Our Front Office and Housekeeping Interns will experience both the Front Office and Housekeeping departments for a well rounded internship. They will be based at our Resort at three properties: our Main Hotel, Bretton Arms Inn, and Lodge and Townhomes. Students that complete their paid internship with our Resort will be given the opportunity to learn from hospitality professionals in a variety of settings.
Front Office Duties:
+ Process guest check-ins and check-outs according to Omni’s Moments of Service and Standard Operating Procedures
+ Empathetically listen to guest inquiries and provide appropriate responses
+ Set up accurate accounts for each guest checking in according to their preferences (room type, payment, etc.)
+ Block rooms in the computer and follow through on designated requirements
+ Pre-register designated guests and prepare key packets
+ Communicate pertinent guest information to designated departments/personnel (i.e., special requests, amenity delivery)
+ Maintain confidentiality of all guests and hotel information
+ Employ attention to detail in order to ensure security of guest room access.
+ Understand and execute all Omni accounting standards ensuring accurate settlement of folios, routing of charges and adjustments
+ Maintain guest history files on all guests
+ Accommodate room changes expediently
+ Document all guest requests, complaints or problems immediately and notify designated department/personnel for resolving the situation. Follow up to ensure completion and guest satisfaction
+ Issue safe deposit boxes to guests and ensure security of key
+ Monitor, send and distribute guest faxes
+ Generate, print and distribute daily and weekly reports
+ Resolve discrepancies on the room status report with Housekeeping
+ Maintain complete knowledge at all times of all hotel features/services, hours of operation, room types, numbers, layout, decor, appointments and locations, room rates, special packages and promotions.
+ Thoroughly clean guest rooms including: making beds, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, and dusting
+ Restock and replace used items within guest rooms
+ Communicate clean status of each room upon completion
+ Remove room service trays and tables from guest rooms
+ Stock supply cart and ensure that it is neat and well organized at all times
+ Check all equipment prior to and after use to ensure that it is in good working order
+ Respond to all hotel guests efficiently and in an appropriately friendly manner
+ To ensure that the hotel lobbies are serviced throughout the week.
+ To ensure all areas of F&B Outlets floors are cared for.
+ To ensure the floors are cared for in public areas and restrooms.
+ To service the Fitness Center/ Indoor Pool and Outdoor Pool area floors & restrooms.
+ To service the outdoor pool/cabana area by cleaning the restrooms, public areas, trash removal, and ensuring the floors are well kept and free of debris.
+ All lobby area corridors and staircases are kept debris free at all times.
+ Keep Dining Room carpets clean.
+ Vacuum and clean all lobby lounges and areas as well as guestrooms and guestroom corridors.
+ Able to work flexible shifts as well as holidays and weekends.
+ Keep veranda clean and swept daily.
+ Clean function rooms after an event is completed and set-up has cleared the furniture from the meeting room.
+ Be comfortable working outside in extreme weather conditions when servicing the pool/cabana area.
+ Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers, both in person and by telephone
+ Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into computer systems
+ Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department
+ Ability to compute accurate mathematical calculations
+ Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions
+ Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up
+ Ability to work well under pressure, dealing with many arrivals and departures within a short period of time
+ Previous customer service experience is required for this professional internship
+ Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
+ Schedule will be split between Front Office and Housekeeping for a well rounded internship. Intern must be willing to commit to both.
+ Intern must be flexible in schedule and location, and open-minded as this is an experience-focused internship to gain exposure to the Housekeeping, Rooms Department, Front Office, Hotels and Resorts, and Hospitality Industry.
+ Schedules are distributed weekly to associates and may include a variety of shifts including daytime and evening shifts.
+ Shift location and times will depend on the business demands.
Start date anticipated for this internship is October 2020. End date is based on school requirements and is flexible. Housing based on availability.
