Job Description

The Receiving Manager will be responsible for receiving and completing paperwork on non-food items. They will also be responsible for all incoming and outgoing mail and shipments.

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for properly receiving non-food items delivered to the loading dock.
  2. Complete necessary paper and computer work.
  3. Oversee incoming and outgoing mail and shipment procedures.
  4. Oversee delivery of incoming shipments to all entities as required.
  5. Maintain and renew postal permits as necessary.
  6. Responsible for the supervision, training and development of staff.
  7. Perform other receiving duties at management's direction.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises Mailroom staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1 year shipping and receiving or combination of education and experience is required.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
