The Oncology Pathology & Biomarkers group within Novartis Oncology Translational Research is recruiting a Senior Principal Scientist to provide scientific and clinical expertise for informing patient selection strategies and biomarker development. You will partner across the full range of Oncology programs (small molecule, biotherapeutics and Immuno-Oncology) from target identification through late-stage clinical studies. This hands-on role designs, performs and analyzes cell & molecular biology studies using human tissues, xenograft models and cell lines, using techniques like Immunofluorescence microscopy, qPCR, westerns and other cutting-edge technologies. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Independently design and perform experiments with a high degree of complexity, demonstrating expertise in a wide range of techniques (e.g., IF, cell culture, immunoblotting, qPCR). • Be a self-starter and independently seek out opportunities to learn and contribute to within Oncology and the larger NIBR organization. • Work collaboratively with others in the group and project team members. • Communicate directly with project teams to design and execute experiments, and subsequently present and discuss results. • Recognize problems and trouble-shoot. • Represent the lab at project team meetings. • Contribute to report writing and other publications. • Active participation in supporting, teaching and learning from colleagues in the pathology and biomarker group. • Fully understand and participate in the drug development process including reaching out to and working with early discovery and late development teams for project specific requirements. \n\n\n\n{#400,300#}#/video#] **Position Title:** Senior Scientist I **Minimum requirements:** What You Will Bring to the Role: • MS or BS in the Biological Sciences required • Minimum 3 years of laboratory experience (Bachelor's degree, minimum of 5 years). Experience with qPCR, western blots, cell culture, plate-based assays, immunofluorescence microscopy is required. • Proven ability to evaluate new technologies and be a champion for game-changing platforms to the broader organization. • Familiarity with the drug development process.
