Ultrasound Technologist


Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard, NC

is looking for a part-time Ultrasound Technologist to join the team!

Role Summary: The ultrasound technologist operates ultrasound equipment to make quality images of designated portions of the body under the direct order of a physician and in accordance with standard operating procedures. Accomplishes patient care in a timely, professional, efficient, and safe manner. The ultrasound technologist must be able to think and act independently and assess emergency situations accurately. Good oral and written communication skills are required. The Generalist Ultrasound Technologist may be required to perform invasive and non-invasive procedures on a variety of patients, utilize sterile techniques and assist physicians as necessary throughout the Mission Health System. Continuing education, learned skills and experience will be utilized. In addition the Generalist Ultrasound Technologist must hold an ARDMS, ARRT or CCI Vascular certification. This position will function without constant supervision to produce superior quality imaging studies.

Required Education: Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.

Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare related profession.

Required License: ARDMS or ARRT registry in ultrasound. Additionally, vascular ultrasound registry from either ARDMS, ARRT or CCI. High Risk OB technologist must be registered in OB/GYN.Must complete required CEU's to maintain certification. BCLS certified.

Preferred License: ARDMS in multiple specialties.

Required Experience: None

Required QA: Technologist must participate in section QA programs as necessary and complete required educational guidelines in addition to the ARRT, ARDMS or CCI re-certification guidelines.

Preferred Experience: 12 months previous experience in ultrasound. If High Risk OB Technologist, then preferred experience is 3 years in ultrasound routinely performing OB/GYN exams with experience in a high risk
