Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Boulder, CO.
As a Principal Systems Engineer you will be developing and sustaining systems using current technologies and others yet to come. We are seeking individuals who have a thirst for knowledge, approach each day with optimism, and have a relentless drive to solve complex problems. The selected Principal Systems Engineer will work the Specialized Warfare Defense Contract (SWDC) ,responsible for System Test Activities, Software Installation, Hardware & Software integration, cross functional troubleshooting, and verification & accreditation. The job involves significant teamwork and coordination with a variety of engineering disciplines and customer representatives. Personal commitment and flexibility are required to support potentially irregular working hours and travel.
The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
+ Perform/Supports software installation and Integration efforts
+ Document, test and debug software
+ Collaborates with software developers in an Agile environment
+ Coordinates with HW/SW team to perform retests and regression tests once defects are corrected
+ Analyze system capabilities to identify software bugs
+ Support Test Events as needed
+ Ability to travel on occasion to Northrop Grumman and customer locations
+ Communicates regularly with program management, customers, and engineering management
+ Generates applicable documentation (i.e. Test Cases, Event Plans, etc.)
+ Provides problem resolution and improvement recommendations with strong time management skills
+ Up to 20% travel to NG and Government locations within Colorado
**BQs for a Principal Systems Engineer** :
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 0 years of experience
+ Technical writing skills for generating analysis and reports
+ Experience with MS Office suite of tools (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
+ A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance is required to start
+ Security + or DOD Directive 8570 compliant (or ability to obtain one in 6 months)
+ Experience in using a requirements management tool, such as DOORS to update and write system level requirements
+ DoD Top Secret clearance, SCI eligible highly desirable
+ Security + certification
+ Experience with formal requirement verification
+ Experience with Test Case Development for verification of Requirements
+ Linux experienc
Salary Range: $101,400.00 - $152,000.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
