Microsoft Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (CHIE) is the team behind Microsoft’s expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission. CHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform globally with our server and data center infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability solutions. Azure Memory and Storage Center of Excellence (AMS COE) is part of the CHIE organization focusing on Memory and Storage devices going into the Cloud hardware servers. AMS provide memory and storage solutions to Azure, drive memory and storage suppliers to deliver high quality products, meeting out requirements. We are looking for seasoned engineers with a strong passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to architect and specify hardware storage solutions that optimize for quality, reliability, cost, and performance.

+ Work with internal Azure teams to provide data-backed guidance on memory selection and usage.
+ Work with external memory and processor suppliers to ensure seamless integration of hardware into Microsoft systems and ensure swift resolution to issues.
+ Learn and use Microsoft processes, tools, databases to extract and analyze large datasets, distilling them into simple but impactful messages relating to memory reliability/performance and opportunities.
+ Learn and thoroughly understand memory controller features (such as ECC and RAS) and their impact on the memory subsystem performance and reliability.
+ Work hands-on with systems, collecting data and conducting experiments to have a foundational basis for recommendations.
Collaborate with other groups and advise on architectural aspects of next generation memory-related technologies.
+ BS degree in engineering or related field.
+ 5+ years of professional hardware industry engineering experience.
+ Relevant hardware memory experience.
+ BS or greater degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or Computer Science with a heavy focus on hardware interaction.
+ 10+ years of industry experience in memory or processor-related design, qualification, manufacturing, testing, or product engineering
+ Low-level (firmware/OS/driver) C/C++/ASM programming experience.
+ Ability to collaborate with a team and work independently toward a common, unified objective.
+ Ability to convey complicated data in a simple, easy-to-understand way.
+ Historical demonstration of a growth mindset
