CHI St. Alexius Health is a regional health network with a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, the system also consists of critical access hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison, Turtle Lake, Washburn and Williston and numerous clinics and outpatient services. CHI St. Alexius Health manages four CAHs in North Dakota - Elgin, Linton, and Wishek, as well as Mobridge Regional Medical Center in Mobridge, S.D. CHI St. Alexius Health offers a comprehensive line of inpatient and outpatient medical services, including: a Level II Trauma Center, primary and specialty physician clinics, home health and hospice services, durable medical equipment services, a fitness and human performance center and ancillary services throughout western and central North Dakota.

**Responsibilities**

1. Staffing and supervision including recruiting, hiring, communicating; scheduling, performance reviews, discipline, coaching, engagement, development, competency assessments and training;

2. Providing quality assurance and improvement, monitoring quality control and preventative maintenance, coupled with safety assurance;

3. Oversight and improvement of workflow processes in the pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical areas of the laboratory utilizing Lean Principles;

4. Building liaison/relationship with other departments, nursing, administration and physicians.

+ In alignment with CommonSpirit Health, CHI Health System, the pathologists and leadership, identifies the quality targets for improvement of laboratory services to our customers. Updates and communicates progress to goals regularly. Accountable for achieving set targets

+ Identifies and solves problems with all customers on the delivery of laboratory services, filling out the reports to track variations as defined in policy. Participates in and implements outcomes of system FMEAs, Root Causes, Quality Accelerators, etc. Communicates service changes and new services timely. Participates in campus specific meetings (leadership, infection prevention, environment of care etc) and provides input to processes and procedures

**Qualifications**

**Required Education for Staff Job Levels**

Required – must meet the requirements for general supervisor as defined by CLIA-88 as follows:

Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory/medical technology science with at least one year experience with high complexity testing,

OR

Previously qualified as a general supervisor prior to 2/28/92 under 42CFR493.1427 (3/14/90)

**Required Licensure and Certifications**

Certified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist by ASCP or AMT

**Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**

Minimum of three years progressive experience in clinical laboratory science is required.

Must possess strong knowledge of clinical laboratory practice, applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and professional standards; good analytical and financial abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills; good tactical planning skills; computer skills including Outlook, Word and Excel; must demonstrate personal traits of motivation, team orientation, professionalism, trust worthiness and place a high value on treating others with dignity and respect.

**PREFERRED Qualifications**

Process Improvement training, Masters in a related field, management/leadership training

**Pay Range**

$33.95- $50.34/ hour
