Principal Software Engineer

The Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power BI) is a rocket ship fueled by organizations across the globe investing in low-code/no-code development to accelerate their digital transformation ambitions. We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our team. The Power Platform is a strategic new growth area for Microsoft, but more importantly, it is a disrupting technology. The Power Platform gives access to a broad set of users in an enterprise, to create next generation business productivity software with a simplified development experience requiring minimal training.

**Responsibilities**

+ Responsible for building rich, modern UX experiences and services to enable generative AI Copilot driven experiences

+ Design, develop and deliver high-impact features across the entire software lifecycle.

+ Collaborate within the team and with partner teams to deliver end-to-end systems and experiences.

+ Ensure software fundamentals of availability, latency, and scalability requirements are met in the system.

+ Investigate and prototype features with new technologies and frameworks.

+ Deliver features in agile and fast-paced environment with high quality.

**Qualifications**

**Required/Minimum Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

+ OR equivalent experience.

+ 5+ years of experience in architecting and coding of a cloud-based service.

**Other Requirements:**

+ Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

**Preferred/Additional Qualifications:**

+ Experience with front-end technologies such as React/Redux and TypeScript.

+ Experience building scalable applications and services with Azure or other scalable cloud platforms with robust performance, resiliency, telemetry, and security.

+ Experience leading complex software projects over multiple releases covering all stages of the product/service lifecycle.

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
