Plant Controller

We are searching for an experienced Plant Controller at our Asheville, NC facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary:
The Plant Controller role will be the accounting and finance lead in our Asheville, NC, facility. The role will serve as a business partner to site leadership, be responsible for maintaining proper books and records, and be responsible for driving improvement in the site's financial performance.

This position reports to the Corporate Controller.

Job Duties:
Manage and direct the efforts of 3 associates

Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring books are closed in a timely and accurate manner, journal entries are approved, and Balance Sheet reconciliations are completed

Complete the month-end reporting package, including variance explanations against budget/forecast and prior year, YTG forecasts, and analysis of forward-looking risks and opportunities

Serve as a backup to the treasury function and assist with regular cash flow forecasts

Review all key accounting processes and implement methods to reduce timelines and improve internal controls

Serve as the primary point of contact with external auditors on the Asheville books

Serve as the business partner to the site director - participate regularly in cross-functional meetings and provide guidance to the site on ways to improve the financial shape of the site

Identify and implement regular, mid-month financial reporting on key areas that will help drive the plant's financial performance

Lead the creation of the site's annual operating plan

Other ad hoc projects as assigned

Required Qualifications:
.Qualifications:
Minimum 8 years of accounting experience in the manufacturing industry

Minimum of 3 years of people management experience with the ability to develop direct reports

Bachelor's degree in accounting, economics or a related field required; CPA preferred

Ability to work independently and collaboratively to effectively prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines and produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment

Excellent organizational, research, analytical and communication skills, both oral and written

Detail oriented and willingness to roll up sleeves

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, hlookups, sumif, nested ifs, pivot tables) and PowerPoint

The noise level in the environment is usuallymoderate.
