JOB SUMMARY: Supports department by functioning as a member of the multi-disciplinary Child Safety Team at Mission Children's Hospital. This position will function as a Forensic Interviewer of children who are alleged to be victims of physical and/or sexual abuse, or witnesses to violence. The interviewer will use research based protocols and techniques in a developmentally appropriate manner to elicit accurate information from the child. The interviewer will be required to prepare for and testify in court proceedings as requested, providing written documentation and expert testimony on aspects of the interview process as well testimony as a fact witness on specific interviews in individual cases.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Masters Degree, Social Work
PREFERRED EDUCATION: None
REQUIRED LICENSE: Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate or Licensed Professional Counselor, State of North Carolina with the ability to bill Medicaid
PREFERRED LICENSE: LCSW
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years postgraduate experience; 2 years forensic interviewing using evidence based protocols and/or 3 years working with child victims of maltreatment.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 5 years of post graduate experience providing psychotherapy to children adolescents, and families.
