Early Childhood Education Teacher
We are looking for an individual who would like to become a part of our 5 Star Child Development Center in a role as a guide and teacher of children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. The ideal candidate will recognize the importance of developmentally appropriate practices in the first 2000 days of a child's life and will be knowledgeable and confident in creating the best possible environments to accomplish specific goals as part of a daily routine. This is a PRN to fill in during childcare center hours M-F 6:15am-6:15pm.
Job Summary: Promotes the physical, intellectual, social and emotional growth and development of young children by providing and supporting quality child care for Mission families in a safe, orderly, healthy and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
Required Education: HS Diploma, NC Early Childhood Credential and at least 12 semester hours of college credit in Early Childhood Education
Preferred Education: Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with at least 12 semester hours of college credit in Early Childhood Education or Child DevelopmentorBachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with at least 18 semester hours of college credit in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
Required License: Certification in CPR and First Aid
Required Experience: 2 years in child care
Additional Skills Required:
- DHHS NC Division of Child Development Criminal Background Letter and DHHS NC Division of Child Development approved training hours as outlined for the department.
- ITS SIDS for teachers who work in classrooms with children ages two and under must be obtained within two months of hire.
- Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
Additional Skills Preferred:
Playground safety certification.
